What Is Witchcraft?
The purpose of witchcraft is to align yourself to the Universe's frequencies to manifest a desire. This is typically done through rituals and prayers that use the energies of the spell caster's intentions and the energies of any natural ingredients used.
Witchcraft is a practice of self-dedication to trusting yourself, to living with both general and self-awareness, and to stepping into your own sovereignty. When someone practices witchcraft, they understand it takes patience, dedication, and accountability.
A true witch takes accountability for the choices they make and understands a life of this spiritual caliber requires deep shadow work and healthy, unshakeable boundaries. A true witch does not allow their ego to get in their way and remains a student of the craft for life.
What is an Intention?
An intention is any desire you set for the purpose of a spell or ritual. If your goal is to get a new job, that would be the intention. You would focus your energy into that intention as part of the spell.
Witches are not evil, in fact many witches choose not to cast any type of baneful magick. Witches are very peaceful people and keep to themselves, with a majority of them choosing not to bring attention to their practice due to stigma around the craft.
Witches don't believe in Hell so it's impossible for a witch to go to Hell. This is a Christian line of thought so it wouldn't make sense for a witch to be condemned in a place that they don't believe in.
Christianity relies on fear-based narratives to gain control over the masses. Things like being punished for wrongdoing, sinning, and being condemned to Hell for all eternity is what continues to influence people to becoming or maintaining their Christianity.
Witchcraft does not rely on fear-based tactics. Witchcraft is a very personal spiritual path that is rooted in self-awareness, accountability, continued growth, and connection with themselves, others, and Earth/Spirit/Universe. There is no need for validation from any external authority or religious doctrine. Witches are free to explore spirituality on their own terms and use this to grow as empowered individuals, as they rely on their own intuition, accountability, and self-awareness.
Can't Magick Be Evil?
Magick is energy and energy is neutral. Magick is not "good" or "bad" as these are human constructs and labels made for us to make sense of the world. The universe doesn't differentiate between the two because energy is just energy. It's not good or bad, it's just energy.
You can use energy for what we perceive to be good and you can use energy for what we perceive to be evil, but this is quite a subjective topic. Humans have a general sense of morality, but one person's morals can be very different than another person's set of morals.
Baneful magick is typically perceived to err more on the "evil" side of magick, but many witches don't choose to practice with baneful magick. Baneful magick is a separate practice and you don't need to practice it to be a witch.
You can choose to be part of a coven (a group of witches) or to practice alone as a solitary practitioner.
